Kaibab

The Kaibab formation is within the Permian period.  The sands were deposited by the Kiabab sea. Within the Kiabab rocks chert and fossils, like Brachiopods and Crinoids, are common. However, after the Kiabab ended a time known as the great dying occurred. Many fossil types disappeared. The formation is an uplift, a laramide. The Kaibab rocks are largely Limestone.
