2500 - 542 Ma

The Proterozoic Eon took place 2.5 GA to 542.0 MY. Between the Phanerozoic and the Archean. It was split into three different parts, Neoproterozoic, Mesoproterozoic, and the Paleoproterozoic. During this time, the world’s continents were joined together, creating the world’s largest land mass. It was called Laurentia, it later broke into Rodinia. The oceans were shallow, and the mountain ranges were huge. The world was a very different place.
